Majestic Healing Pathway™
A Community-Developed, Trauma-Informed Yoga Model for Postpartum Healing in Black and Women of Color
Our Why
Black and women of color birthing people face disproportionately high rates of postpartum PTSD, driven by systemic racism, birth trauma, and inequitable maternal care. Many are left without culturally safe, accessible healing spaces — and the emotional toll ripples through families and communities for generations.
Majestic Community Wellness created the Majestic Healing Pathway™ to change that.
What It Is
The Majestic Healing Pathway™ is a culturally rooted, trauma-informed yoga and peer-support model developed with and for Black and women of color birthing people.
It integrates body-based healing, culturally affirming mindfulness practices, and structured peer connection to restore emotional well-being during the critical postpartum period.
Community Origins
This model was co-created in Cambridge and Boston, MA, through deep listening to postpartum parents, community leaders, and maternal health advocates.
It draws on:
Intergenerational traditions of movement, breathwork, and community care
Participant-led feedback loops that shaped each element of the program
Lived experience leadership from BIPOC maternal health experts
The Five Core Components
Trauma-Informed Hatha Yoga Protocol – An 8-week sequence designed for postpartum bodies, honoring healing needs and addressing trauma symptoms.
Cultural Safety Framework – Music, imagery, and rituals that affirm identity, led by instructors with shared lived experience.
Facilitator Pipeline & Training – Recruiting and certifying BIPOC community members as trauma-informed perinatal yoga teachers.
Peer Connection Circles – Guided sharing after each session to reduce isolation and build trust.
Community-Based Evaluation – Collaborative research and feedback to measure outcomes and improve the model.
